Recently, the Foresight Centre at the University of Liverpool hosted the exhibition “Erfinderland Deutschland” (‘Inventions from Germany’), curated by the Goethe Institut in London.
The exhibition opened on 27 January 2016, and the University welcomed students from local secondary schools, including St Margaret’s, St Hilda’s, and Merchant Taylors, who joined staff and students from Modern Languages and Cultures and the University of Leeds.
At the same time, UK Trade & Investment hosted a seminar on the German Language & Culture for Exporters, aimed at helping companies expand their business to Germany. Colleagues from German in Modern Languages & Cultures were delighted to welcome Dominic Gidge BA (2012) back to Liverpool for this seminar.
The exhibition was opened by Dr Georgia Herly, Deputy Director of the Goethe Institut London, with presentations from Dr Georg Krawietz, director of the London office of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service), and representatives from UKTI and Siemens.
