This research seminar will focus on international ‘consumerism’ with regards to Italian crime fiction author Andrea Camilleri and his Inspector Montalbano novels.

This research seminar will explore the psychology of certain characters in Giorgio Scerbanenco’s Duca Lamberti novels through a detailed analysis of the representation of several forms of violence. These elements will be analysed, their cognitive and emotional impact on the reader considered, and the latter’s engagement in a moral evaluation of certain characters discussed.
