logo_routes_into_languages_enOur second Routes into Languages all-day event this year, entitled Christmas Language Fair, was held on the 3rd December. We welcomed 84 sixth form students and teachers, from 7 schools in the Northwest area, to a series of language and cultural sessions – delivered mainly by students and staff members of Modern Languages and Cultures – highlighting the benefits of learning languages at the University of Liverpool.

All the activities were received with great enthusiasm, and students’ comments in the post-event evaluation were very positive. Here is a sample:

‘I understood the foreign languages and I have developed further confidence in speaking them.’

‘Great to learn how you can start a new language from scratch.’

‘Cultural activities were really enjoyable.’

We are already preparing our next Routes into Languages event, a ‘Translation and Interpreting conference’, which will take place in semester 2. We’ll keep you posted on all developments regarding this exciting event.
