Congratulations are due to Natalie Grady, who has become the first Liverpool student to be awarded an Instituto Etxepare grant for the best performance in Basque language in each university where Basque is taught!

Natalie, a final-year student of Hispanic Studies, will be able to use her grant to enroll in a two-week intensive Basque course at the Zornotza barnetegi (Basque-language boarding school) after graduating this summer.

Congratulations too, to Dr Juan Arana Cobos, University Teacher in Basque Language and Culture, who has been awarded the Begoña Aretxaga grant by the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno to finalize his dissertation for publication.
