152 students and graduates attended Liverpool’s Languages in the Limelight event, organized by the Careers & Employability Service, on February 16th.
The event was for University of Liverpool students with language skills, and it offered them the chance to make contact and network with 12 employers and organisations. The exhibitors came from a diverse range of sectors – from finance, teaching English abroad, work experience in Europe, consumer goods to the computer games industry – and they all had one thing in common: they were keen to meet our students!
As part of the event, students were also able to attend a session run by the EU on translating and interpreting, and this proved very popular with over 40 students attending. Students and employers alike found the event really useful, and this is what some exhibitors had to say about the event:
“If you are looking for someone with language skills, this is a good event to go to”… “A fantastic opportunity to find motivated languages graduates. We look forward to coming again next year!”… “Good source of languages graduates and branding for employers.”
Languages in the Limelight was a huge success, and it will hopefully take place again next year.
