SOCLAS is teaming up with Liverpool City of Radicals to celebrate the life and work of Bertolt Brecht with a screening of David Panos and Anja Kirschner’s award-winning film The Empty Plan, followed by a video-conference Q and A with the film-makers.

The screening will take place in the Rendall Building (Bedford Street South) Lecture Theatre 9, on Wednesday 26 October starting at 5.30 p.m: entry is free.

Kirschner and Panos have collaborated on several film and music projects: their work probes the connections between the present and the past, theory and practice, making art and commenting on social reality. Part documentary, part historical reconstruction and part melodrama, The Empty Plan interrogates the relationship between theory and practice in the theatre of Bertolt Brecht.

Kirschner and Panos received the Film London Jarman Award 2011 for their recent work including The Empty Plan
