From Moscow to Sarajevo, Kandahar to Berlin, the realities of war and the political illusions of the twentieth century are the stuff of contemporary literature. The effects echo through generations and weave stories that criss-cross Europe and the world.

Writer-in-Residence at the University of Liverpool, Larissa Boehning (Berlin) will read from her new novel The Luck of the Cicadas, and Zoe Lambert (Manchester) reads from her new collection The War Tour. The two writers examine the personal stories and histories that connect individuals and families.

Tickets are free, but places are limited please book your place directly with the Bluecoat.

The Writer in Residence programme is supported by SOCLAS, the DAAD and Comma Press.
