Congratulations to Tracey Morse for being awarded a scholarship to spend a research period at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Mexico, Toluca, Mexico. Tracey is a second year doctoral student in Hispanic Studies at the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on contemporary Mexican women’s writing with a particular interest in the representation of masculinities and the broader area of gender relations. The writers whose works are of particular interest for Tracey’s project are Nellie Campobello, Elena Garro, Rosario Castellanos, Elena Poniatowska, and Angeles Mastretta.

The scholarship was awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mexico, as part of an annual programme available for British postgraduates. On behalf of all at SOCLAS we wish Tracey a very fruitful trip.
