Dr Steve Rubenstein appeared last week on the BBC Radio 4 programme “Questions, Questions”, talking about the problematic meaning of shrunken heads. If you’d like to listen again to this feature, the programme is available for a few more days here on the BBC iPlayer (the item begins at around 17 mins 34 seconds).

Dr Steve Rubenstein is the Director of Liverpool’s Research Institute of Latin American Studies. His research focuses on the Shuar nation in the Ecuadorian Amazon. You can read some of his research articles on the Shuar, including the role of tsantsa (shrunken heads) in Shuar history and culture, here.
